The solid block set consists of four wooden blocks, identical in shape and size, with rounded corners and a natural colour. Each block has ten holes that correspond perfectly and exclusively to ten cylinders of the same colour as the support, smooth and sliding, with a knob at the top that allows them to be moved and slid in. The solid interlockings are a very useful and fun material for educating the eye about dimensions. Thanks to the possibility of being able to touch the cylinders with ease and to be able to slide them in and out independently, the concepts of large and small can be learned in a concrete way (block 1: the cylinders vary in height and diameter); large - fine (block 2: the cylinders vary only in diameter, which decreases regularly); high - low (block 3: the cylinders vary only in height); high, fine - low, wide (block 4: the cylinders have inversely proportional dimensions and vary in both height and diameter). The holes in each block are self-correcting, visually indicating the correct position of the joints, encouraging the pleasure of discovery, encouraging commitment to finding the right solution by oneself. The knobs facilitate the fine motor skills of the hand, indirectly preparing it for writing. The solid grooves encourage the development of concentration and eye-hand coordination.
Sensory material: made up of a set of objects "grouped according to a certain physical quality" - weight, temperature, size, shape, colour, sound, etc. - which are then used to create the sensory experience. - Refining the perception of each sense encourages exploration and knowledge. From around 18 months. The bases of the blocks, the ten cylinders and the knobs are made of lacquered wood. The senses, "windows on the world", accompany development. The solid joint is useful for visual dimension education.
