The Smelling Bottles are used for the sensory game of smell. The tin jars can be filled in pairs with solid or liquid substances, e.g. herbs or aromatic essences, to have fun recognising and matching smells. The game refines the sensory perception of smell: recognising different smells and naming them is a useful key to exploring the environment, contributes to language development and encourages the ability to control and maintain attention. The exercise can also be carried out with the use of a blindfold.
Sensory material: made up of a set of objects 'grouped according to a certain physical quality' - weight, temperature, size, shape, colour, sound, etc. - Refining the perception of each sense encourages exploration and knowledge. From about 24 months. The tray is made of birch wood and contains 6 glass bottles with corks. The senses, "windows on the world", accompany development. The scent bottles are useful for educating the olfactory sense.
