The Geometric insets cabinet is made entirely of birch wood. It is composed of seven drawers, easily removable, which contain six tiles in which are carved categories of plane geometric form, equipped with a knob to facilitate the grip and manipulation. The special grip of the knob encourages the right movement of the fingers, useful for gripping the writing instrument. The game allows to recognise and touch different geometric figures that can be extracted and repositioned in the relevant tiles that act as a base frame. The first drawer contains a wooden frame, the three basic geometric shapes that have in common the side of the square, the side of the equilateral triangle and the diameter of the circle, and three wooden tiles in which the figures fit perfectly. The second drawer contains a flower, a trapezium, an ellipse, an oval, a triangle with curved sides, a quadrilateral. The third contains a square and five rectangles of gradually decreasing size; the fourth contains six circles in gradation; the fifth contains six triangles, three scalene, three isosceles; the sixth contains six polygons: pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, octagon, ennagon, decagon. The seventh drawer contains six various figures: flower, scalene trapezium, rectangular trapezium, quadrilateral, scalene octangular triangle, four-leaf clover. Being able to observe and touch the shapes stimulates the tactile-muscular sense for the knowledge of geometric figures and helps in the exercise of prewriting. Finding the right position encourages the development of attention and concentration.
Sensory Material: consisting of a set of objects 'grouped according to a certain physical quality' - weight, temperature, size, shape, colour, sound, etc. - Refining the perception of each sense encourages exploration and knowledge. Age: from about three years. The box is made entirely of birch wood, the figures are hand-painted in red or blue with Luxens water-based paints with reduced environmental impact, certified by the Ecolabel. The knobs are made of beech wood. The game is useful for sensory awareness of geometric figures through sight and touch.
