The binomial cube is useful for the development of the mathematical mind. It consists of a cube-shaped box with two hinged sides to which hinges are attached to allow a special opening. The cube contained in the box is made up of eight geometric solids: two cubes, a large red one and a small yellow one; three rectangular parallelepipeds with the same shape and colour, with two red and four black sides; three rectangular parallelepipeds, also the same, but with black and two yellow sides. The cube is made up by matching the sides of the prisms by colour and size, which helps to understand the algebraic formula (a+b)3 sensorially.
Sensory Material: consisting of a set of objects 'grouped according to a certain physical quality' - weight, temperature, size, shape, colour, sound, etc. - Refining the perception of each sense encourages exploration and knowledge. Age: from about four years. The box is made of birch wood and the cube is made of beech wood. The geometric solids are hand-painted in red, black and yellow using Luxens water-based paints with reduced environmental impact, certified by the Ecolabel. The game is a visual, tactile and muscular memory aid, facilitates abstraction and prepares for algebra.
