Velcro frame

The velcro frame is a useful material for developing independence. The loom is a square of wood, with two rectangles of fabric on the left and right sides that can be closed. This activity is designed to help children to dress themselves, since the loom can be used to reproduce the whole series of complex movements that need to be carried out in order to join two fabrics with hook-and-loop fasteners. The aim is to provide the child (or the adult who needs to rehabilitate this type of movement) with the means to practise safe hand movements. The frame facilitates useful exercise in wrist movement, eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills. The game responds to the child's need for self-reliance and independence.
