The squares and triangles puzzles is a game consisting of a rectangular birch base frame, with 'soft' rounded corners, which contains three grooves in which three yellow squares are placed: one whole, one divided into two parts, one divided into four. By manipulating the joints, the child first sensitively learns the shape of the puzzle and then its names: the parts of the square as a whole and its first divisible parts. From an early age, the child 'absorbs' the shape and becomes able to recognize it in the surrounding reality. Trial and error in order to find the right position for the interlocking parts of the square help with problem-solving and exercise eye-hand coordination.
Sensory material 0-3: made up of a set of objects "grouped according to a certain physical quality" - weight, temperature, size, shape, color, sound, etc. - perfecting the perception of each sense encourages exploration and knowledge. The game can be used from about 20 months to 3 years. The puzzle and base frame are made of birch wood, the squares are hand-painted in yellow with environmentally friendly, "Ecolabel" certified Luxens water-based paints. The squares and triangles puzzle can be used in various play contexts and is also a very useful teaching aid.
