Tens boards are made entirely of birch wood. The game consists of two wooden boards divided into ten equal spaces. On one board the numbers ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty are printed vertically; on the other board the numbers sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety. Each space is characterised by a groove in which the number cards representing the symbols of the units from one to nine can be inserted. The game makes it easy to understand the writing of the numbers from eleven to ninety-nine and, with the help of the pearl sticks, to learn the formation of the numbers, their names and the correspondence of symbols and quantities. The tables are to be associated with the box of pearl sticks (cod.MA00SS): there are nine golden sticks of ten and nine golden pearls. Covering the zero of the first ten with the nine card gives nineteen, next to the number you then place a ten-stick and nine pearls.
