The multiplication table is a useful material for understanding mathematics with clear, accessible and concrete elements. The material consists of: a wooden box with two compartments, containing 100 red beads, wooden cards with the numbers from 1 to 10; a red token; a wooden board with 100 wooden cavities formed by 10 rows of 10, the numbers from 1 to 10 printed at the top indicating the multiplier. On the left side of the board a rectangular window is carved into which the number card corresponding to the multiplier is inserted, on the top left there is a hole which contains the token. The aim of the material is to provide the concept of multiplication by noting the analogy with addition. By placing the beads on the board, a number is repeated as many times as there are units in the multiplier, and by counting the beads the result can be checked, so that the operation can be understood and memorised easily and with fun.
